Tweeting
Because I do not spend enough time on the Internet, I have started a twitter.
If the first couple tweets are any indication, my twitter will be nothing but exhortations to save our economy through hard work and smart spending, like:
Work: It Keeps Away the Hunger.
Work: Remember When People Used To Do It and Things Were Better?
Work: It's What Bankers Do That Makes Them Feel Entitled To Their Wealth Even Though Their Compensation Structure Encourages Short Sighted Greed and Renders Sustainable Growth Impossible.
Yeah, okay. My sloganeering needs some...work.
Good day yesterday. The President gave a good speech; Jay Z performed his best-written song wearing his best-ever glasses. But let's remember--in six months, in a year, in two years--that we already knew things would get awfully bad.

You know you want to follow me. =)
woops, what I meant to say was, "FIRST!"
Obama's speech was indeed amazing... a great moment.
Twitter scares me a little. But I'm following anyway. :-D

His speech was awesome. And yes, I hope people won't hate him. It's going to get worse before it gets better.
The problem with work is that it's a little hard to find. But at least I'm using my time creatively.
Welcome to Twitter. At first it will be like, "What is worthy to be tweetable?" and then eventually every thing and thought will seem tweetable. It's addicting.
Jay Z is totally a nerd poser. He makes me want fake glasses too.
ha ha. Your tweeting sounds so exciting lol.
My first words upon seeing Jay-Z last night? "JOHN GREEN!" There was pointing involved, too. It was then followed by the question, "Steve Urkel?" It was a good moment for me.

I like that you're using your Twitter for good.
The UK could do with one of your slogans right now - yay for announcements of increased unemployment, not even counting the job cuts since November.
I generally loved Obama's speech, particularly "These things are old. These things are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history." and "We reject as false that we must choose between our security and our ideals".
I just had one qualm. The whole "we will defeat you" line. It made me a little uncomfortable, but by no means wholly detracted from the address.

"But let's remember--in six months, in a year, in two years--that we already knew things would get awfully bad."
Well said. Despite myself, I'm feeling pretty enthusiastic and optimistic...but I fear that too many people are seeing him as this deus ex machina that will pull us out of all of our troubles, and then the backlash will begin...
So I've noticed, I had already been following you since you announced it on blogTV, glad to see you're actually using it now! Mine is: http://twitter.com/ittakesii

is me!
I noticed you joined my facebook group, "John Green, PotterCast Wants you!" so I wonder, how's that going? :D
Nable-a place to keep your nargles.
Righty O! Your foresight/hindsight/whatever sight it is is pretty sharp, despite the nerdy glasses and poofy hair.
Best,
John Green. I was persuaded to check you out, by Paul Michael Murphy, and i checked out your youtube brotherhood 2.0 as well. You're freaking hilarious.
Monica.
Not the same monica that commented above.
That last sentence is kind of chilling.
