Emily Writes...
"Why don't you post videos anymore?! I loved them! They were so funny!"
Hi, Emily. Do not fear. There are many videos for you to watch--hundreds, actually. The web site you are reading represents less than one percent of what publicists would call "my web presence." I post about two videos a week on the vlogbrothers youtube channel, which I share with my brother, Hank.
(By the way, Hank's wife, who is known in nerdfighteria as The Katherine, just became a Master of Science. I heartily congratulate her, although I am sad to now be the only member of my family without an advanced degree.)
I also help run this site called nerdfighters, where you can watch all of our videos and also join tens of thousands of fellow nerds in talking about (and making art and videos about) books and other things that don't suck.
Also, you can follow me on twitter, where you can bear witness to such interesting events as the brief feud I had with noted American author Maureen Johnson. Here's an excerpt:
Maureen: Oh, @realjohngreen has declared a feud! *whirr of blender* I'm making a bitchjuice smoothie, Printzboy. Here, have a glass!
Me: To be fair, @maureenjohnson's books also awards. They often win "Best Book Cover" from the Decapitated Girls with Sexy Bodies Association.

You have an MA in Awesome, John. And a PhD in Making Awkward Silences on BlogTV.
Ohh, that last insult was a buurrnn XD sorry Maureen!, love ya really! <3
^_^ Your John Green brand of English-nerd humor is REALLY entertaining!!! I've got a question for Question Tuesday:
Have you ever worked as a lifeguard at Splish Splash?
Can I ask you one more question? Ok, make it one more after that one.
If I ever saw you walking around New York, do I have your permission to hug you?
Thanks John!!!

P.S. WOOHOO!! Third comment!!!!!!!!!!!
Um, you're hilarious. I'm a former YA librarian now coordinating grants at the State Library in Indy. How did I not know about this blog when I did YA in Whiteland? Some library skills I have.
Why are you denying your advanced degree in Nerdfightology?
Your twitter feuds with MJ make me laugh. On an unrelated note I was wondering if you could do a blog about summer reading, I'm totally overwhelmed by the amount of books in the world and have no idea what to read. When searching for good books to read I figured you were the perfect person to ask.
That whole feud with Maureen Johnson was hilarious. I witnessed the whole thing as it happened. xDD
You guys should have more feuds sometime.
That was funny...
A degree is needed for some people to be able to do what they want in their lives, and it isn't in others. You don't need a degree to be successful and be awesome. We know you COULD get a degree if you wanted-- you're certainly smart enough-- but that's not your path.
Anywho, the feud b/w the YA authors and Maureen was great... but didn't you guys end up as each other's only allies in the end? lol
Congrats to The Katherine!
I do wonder how someone who reads your blog could not know about Vlogbrothers.
I jump between topics a lot in this post... weird. Oh well.
Hi John, I am an author and have to agree, publishers pay loads of money to the best well known authors, if they paid royalties only then all authors would stand a better chance of making a living and allow them to spend more time writing, this would give the readers better choice and improve writers skills. writers should all earn the money from sales royalties, not media popularity.
I just happened to read your tweet about where Americans spend their paychecks. While it is incredibly sad that only 0.2% of it goes towards reading, I think it is worth mentioning that at least reading is a separate category and isn't included in the catch-all "entertainment".
Also, you are awesome. (But you knew that already.)
Omg you used my comment for a post! Thats so cool!
Just saw your latest video, with the 20 questions. I noticed that on the bookshelvels sections changed...like at first there was a sprite can then there was a my little pony there...whats up with that?
While I do think it's important to acknowledge that Americans do not spend as much of their income on reading as they should, the study fails to account for gas spent driving to and from the library
the maureen argument is interesting because even though I know nothing about it, I've recently been appalled by the number of teen literature on the shelves that resembles a cover for Cosmopolitan. I’m not against new book cover designs but I think it’s pretty sad when publishers think they have to start using young women’s bodies to market their books, just like sleazy magazine ads. But anyhow, I actually have no clue what the maureen argument is about so I’ll have to look into it.
p.s. john green, your stuff is awesome. i don’t have to tell you not to forget to be that way.
