I'm Not Edward Cullen

The conversation about the business of publishing and the failure of the current business model will continue in the comments of the post below this one, where I'm still answering questions and comments. But if you've had enough of all that, here is the best song ever written about Twilight and Edward Cullen.

@ valerie2776: I agree. Also when is it ever okay to use zeros as "o"? The whole point of the song is apparently lost to that particular youtuber.

I love this. I've had it favorited since it first got posted. @valerie2776 @marie: I worked at a bookstore for all the time Twilight was taking off, and was there for the midnight release of the last book. I've been sad for the future of humanity for a long, long time.

hope those die hard 12 year old twihards actually GET IT, rather than just be insulted by the fact the *gasp* all of humaniy does not enjoy, sparkiling, overprotectice, creep into your window while your sleeping Edward Cullen.

The thing I find more frustrating than teenage girls' love of Twilight is their blind acceptance of its horrifying antifeminist undertones. Overtones? Screaming from the rooftops break your eardrums tones? I had hoped for great strides in the war against rape-supportive culture and oppression through gender scripts in this generation, but what with Twilight and movies like "The Ugly Truth," I'm quickly losing faith.

That was hilarious.
I'm a huge Twilight fan, and loved the song.
Haha.

And people need to stop taking things so seriously.
"a little sad for the future of humanity?"
Shut up and suck it up, for pete's sake. Seriously.
People's obsessiveness with all things Twilight is at least less annoying than all the haterade SOME people are constantly sippin'.

This is HEEE-larious.... as a person who works with girls aged 12-14, I can say that the book is almost single-handedly responsible for girls starting to read again... which is great. If people would take the time to point out that Edward is really not as great as they think- I mean, control freak much?- they would learn something. And the poor men in this world who are attached to women who think Edward is the shizz... well, they need tro watch this and feel better about themselves. :) Well done, John- spot on! :)
