I'm confused about the Chicago stop. It says on the Book Cellar site that it is a ticketed event. I need to know how to procure them. =]

John, I loved Paper Towns, but alas, Margo is a typical Manic Pixie Dream Girl.

Oh, it sucks being in a different country. Planning an international tour?

Why is every event up until the Louisville event 3 hours long, yet the Louisville event is only 2? If it were 3, I would be able to come for the last hour. :[[[[[[[[

wow that was wierd. It says I am Megan?
So the post from Megan is actually from Cat.

I am most definitely not Megan. I am Cat. This is really strange.

For real, I want to weep. I live in Phoenix my whole life and then two months after I move to Tucson for school JOHN GREEN decides to visit.

I wish you guys could come to the UK and have a NF gathering... Scotland in particular. Or that I could come to the US for one of the gatherings...=[

Oh well, one of my e-friends in America will be going to the one in Seattle and she can tell me all about it.

Blarg!
This map is a work of genius but it omits your Nov. 6th date in beautiful* downtown Knoxville, TN! Just imagine us there, nestled somewhere between the "Baby Orphanage" and the "Deathly Hallows" reference. Here's the Facebook page on it:

*interpretations of beautiful may vary.

I found Paper Towns in my bookstore! Eight days early! I can't wait to read it! Yay!

I don't suppose you want to change that Seattle date to when I'll NOT be out of state on vacation?

No?

Damnit! :-(

The Chicago link doesn't work. It just takes you to a Blogger/Google sign in page, even if you're already signed in.

I feel like Margo is more of a deconstruction of the MPDG archetype, anonymous. Sure, she brings vibrancy to Quentin's life, but she's more than quirky for the sake of it. Maybe she changes Quentin, but there's a selfish, negative undertone to her actions. The Shins changing one's life, it is not.

Also, super pumped for the St. Louis stop. Neil Diamond and John and Hank in a 48 hour period? I do not know how I'll handle it.

Agree with Jenni.

I think margo is, like, an aggressive attack-style deconstruction of the MPDG. Will blog about this one day. -John

Let's make sure there is a Madison, WI stop next time. Or at least a Winner, SD drive-by. Have a great time on your tour!

How does one get tickets to the Book Cellar event?

Today is the big day! Yeah, the new book comes out officially. Now I have to decide book or audio? Book would be nice to read while eating chicken wings. Audio would be nice to listen while in the car. Chicken wings...nice. Commute not sucking...also nice. Book or audio? Audio or book? Dangit I need to make a decision!

I got the sad Margo cover yesterday!!!!!! I freaked out. I've already read thanks to an advanced readers copy but I was excited nonetheless. Excellent work, John.

John, what you need to do during your tour is "Extreme Ironing" (it's a real sport) it's where you take a picture of yourself ironing in extreme places and doing extreme things. (totally AWESOME!!!) If you have time you can check out thier website www.goextremeironing.com
It would be AWESOME to see the pictures of you ironing nerdfighting T-shirts all across America!!

Hey John,

My dad lives 600 miles away from me and he came to visit last weekend. I had Paper Towns out (I haven't read it yet because it is our book club's book next month), but my dad picked it up and could not put it down. He carried it around all weekend and read it any break in the conversation. He even bought me another copy so he could take it home and finish it.

He loved it! He is also 56 years old, so your books can span any generation.

So, I finished Paper Towns half in love with John Green in a totally healthy way. Go online to express my happiness. See that hey, he is actually an hour away. At least, he was an hour away five hours ago. I hope, "Maybe he'll stay tomorrow." But because this is my life, that is impossible.

What time is the visit in KC?
Nov. 17, but what time?

I've been looking forward to this for weeks. I can't go if it's near the time of my violin lesson though. D:
