"on Caster Semenya, sex, and the role of ambiguity in life and sports" I just have to say I love listening to you talk about random (from my point of view) topics. You just have a way of making life make slightly more sense, and that's no small feat.

John Green, I said it in Gadsden, Alabama and I'll say it again:

You and the NFs are the reason I believe in people again. Every day you and Nerdfighteria make me believe a little more that people can be decent. And maybe we can imagine people more complexly. And maybe we can understand our Margos instead of merely idolizing them. Thank you for giving this atheist back her faith.

"Oh really? Damn. Looking forward to Paper Towns the Movie!"

Yes, that is what I said while watching your vlog. Then I tweaked it to be 10 words. We can enter once a day, correct?

And I think that's exactly why I have this love/hate relationships with sports. I love the excitment and hype and 'trying to get to the top' part, but what if you get there, what happens then? The wonderful thing isn't that 'you're the best' but what you found in yourseelf to get there. Yet it's a reachable goal and that something I can't relate to, there is always more to want. Thanks for defining that for me.

So, have you heard about the Philadelphia library closings? They're closing all of the neighborhood and regional branches in Philadelphia, plus the Parkway Central Library! Here's the article:

http://libwww.freelibrary.org/closing/

I just thought that the nerdfighters ought to know about this.

Hey John, considering how you think people should be imagined complexly, you might find this XKCD comic funny and/or interesting. http://xkcd.com/610/

I know this doesn't have anything to do with this post, but I'm still waiting for you to do in depth about The Hunger Games :]

I just finished Catching Fire and all of have to say is... Wow. I so did not see this coming! I really felt the pain of the games this time around because I've gotten to know Katniss so well in these past 2 books, and I felt the desperation and the hope and the acceptance. Definitely the most moving book I've ever read.

I mean, I still have Paper Towns as my number one, but still.

I absolutely agree! It gets me so fired up that they're subjecting this poor girl to all this humiliation! So true, Mr. Green, it's important to remember Semenya for her accomplishments, not all the controversy surrounding her. Rather than labeling people as male or female, why can't they be labeled for their effect in the world? For their achievements? As a friend once said to me, "Why do I have to be male or female? Why can't I just be?"
Caster just is made of awesome. No jokes!
