The Health Care Debate

The brilliant people at Thought Bubble took a video I made about the health care debate and used it as a script for the video above. Amazing, eh?

That was fabulous, and the thought bubbles, just made it that much better.

That was very awesome. I wonder what they will do next.

Great job! It kind of makes it easier for me to understand, with my low attention span.

Wow, it's awesome how adding some cartoons to that video just made me understand it ten times more.

That's fan-flippin'-tabulous. Well done all around! I agree completely with accuracy of all content and the awesomeness of the format. Well done!

That was really cool! Kudos to the people at thoughtbubble. It actually helped me understand your speech a whole lot more. The first time I watched it on youtube I kind of zoned out because of my [ignorant] lack of knowledge concerning the American health care debate. [In my defense, I am Australian!]

I favorited the vlogbrothers video this is from, and I quite like the ThoughtBubble version as well :)

This is fantastic. Now I just want a video of people watching this while loudly chanting the pledge of allegiance so that they don't have to hear it. Or huge posters of John Green with a Hitler mustache. All good times.

About your healthcare debate video... I am a Nerdfighter hailing from the "original series" of videos, but about 15 of my non-nerd friends on Facebook have been circulating that video. It's making the rounds, very popular.

One of my concerns related to health care is that I'm unimpressed with the level of poorly thought-out spending the government has been dishing out lately (and by lateley, I include the 8 years preceding Obama's administration.) I am not opposed to a low-cost government option as long as it's not the only option and as long as it doesn't cause an obscene amount of taxpayer money.

In the same way, I didn't disagree with a stimulus package, but I think the bill has glaring, fatal flaws and that the congress and president are rushing something that needs careful consideration and collaboration from every single stakeholder.

If Obama wasn't so desperate to create overriding government systems and spend money we don't have, I'd be more willing to go along with the bill that's been drawn up. I'm all for lowering the skyrocketing costs and extending at least basic care to everyone, but there has to be some sanity to this spending. And frankly, the government has been insane for a long time now.

I also think that painting conservatives who oppose a govt option as dangerous maniacs is a mistake on the president's part. He's alienating a huge portion of America that may or may not have liked Bush but don't like Obama even more. If he is to unite the American people (as his campaign rhetoric indicated was his goal) he needs to reach out to opposition and assuage their fear as a good leader does. The Big Government, Big Brother rhetoric is a reality than many refuse to go unnoticed.

That may be the coolest thing I have seen in months. I mean that very sincerely.

I love how they slowed down John's voice (which I'm pretty sure they did)
This was awesome though, the animation was perfect and amusssing (:

You are amazing in your ability to encapsulate a complex issue and speak about it so eloquently. I feel the same way about your discussion of many foreign policy issues as well.
