What Happened in Chicago

This is what happened, more or less, from the perspective of the nerdfighters. What happened from my perspective will be up later today.

I know I sound crazy in the part where I describe the shape of novels, but whatever. Also, I completely disagree with Hank when he says I was a bad dungeonmaster. But I really did cry while Hank was singing. Everyone was screaming the lyrics! He was a total rock star!

08-08-08 was so awesome. ^_^ I wish I could have made it to Reggie's Room because it sounded like you all had a blast, but unfortunately, my brother and I were walking everywhere, and we wouldn't have made the last train home if we went.

Can't wait to see your and Hank's footage! :D

Looked like an extremely awesome time. I wish so much that I could have been there...but at least I can experience it in part through video. Yay technology!

OMG! It's the Short Sisters! I love those girls! John (and Hank) and everyone looks like they had so much fun. I even saw Allison in the video!

I had lunch with Chellie and Monica after the Spring Lake gathering. It was lots of fun. It sounds like there were a million people at the library!

Here's to an epic 8-8-08!

John...you are such a good brother. How sweet that you cried a little for your brother's success.

As a loyal viewer from 01/05/07 to the present, I can tell you how wonderful it has been to watch you two get closer as friends as well as brothers. As the youngest of five I can attest to the blessing of having loving, supportive siblings.

Now when are you two going to come to Pittsburgh?!??

Best wishes!
Marie

John, I hope you aren't planning to have Hank sit on the floor at your fall events. I felt bad for Hank.

Oh how I miss Chicago and I only returned home five hours ago. This is painful.

8808 was awesome and I had such a brilliant time, so thank you!

I was at Spring Lake, and I have to say I love the "shapes" of the novels! Very entertaining, and they make perfect sense :) Also, I'd love to see a book in the shape of squiggles...

Thank you so much for making 8-8-08 the best day of my life!

Well, if talking about the shape of novels is crazy, then so is E. M. Forster, because he gets pretty into doing just that in the "Pattern and Rhythm" chapter of his book Aspects of the Novel... If you haven't read it, you should check it out---he has some interesting things to say on the subject.

Oh, John, please please please (continue ad infinitum and absurdum) come to Britain. I don't care where in England, it's not that big and I will be there. I think that you have a huge British nerdfighter following who watch you having fun in the States and feel a tad envious.
