Sorry about the lack of blog posts recently. (I've been sick and traveling, a tough combination.)

But I am here in New York City today to attend the Edgar Awards banquet. Paper Towns is a finalist for the award, and if you want, you can follow the evening live on my twitter.

Speaking of twitter: I logged on recently to discover that I suddenly have 33,000 followers. Twitter put me on their "suggested users" list (along with Demi Moore and P. Diddy, if that's what he calls himself these days), so now there are a lot of twitter newbies who are like, "Why does this guy call his wife the Yeti?"

Why, indeed. Speaking of which, I sure do miss the Yeti.

HE LIVES!

Sorry, it needed to be said. And I'm also sorry that Tiny chickens decided to attack you. Allergies are killing me softly. T.T

I'm sorry having Yeti withdrawls- I'll bet that's why you left your suit pants at home, Scatterbrain.

Meanwhile- your Twitter updates have been loads of fun this evening.

Congrats on the win.
That's a pretty goofy lookin' statue - I mean if you put a chef's hat on Edgar he'd look like he jumped off some pizzaria signage. Or if you put some red checkered overalls on him he'd look like Big Boy. http://bigboyflorida.com/db3/00280/bigboyflorida.com/_uimages/BigBoyLogo.bmp

Gosh, you're really making up for that trophy-less childhood, aren'tcha?

Congrats on the win as well.

I recently started tweeting, and I follow you, not because you are on any suggested users list, but because I noticed you on someone else's list, and then you were following that person as well (and you only follow a handful of people).

Then I wanted to stalk . . . strike that . . . I wanted to follow your blog but notice you don't have an RSS feed on the blog portion of your site (http://www.sparksflyup.com/weblog.php). What is up with that? Since you are on blogger, I think that this is fairly painless. Or do you not want me stalking . . . I mean following . . . your blog.

Hi John,

Don't feel bad about falling off the BEDA wagon. It's kind of reassuring to know that someone I admire also has times when he can't follow through, for whatever reason.

Anyway, what I really wanted to say was how much I enjoyed your BEDA posts. I loved the question/answer format of most of the posts. I loved that you took the time to answer some difficult and tough questions, and really put some thought into your answers. You could have easily skipped the tough questions. I also loved that you answered some of the silly questions. I also loved that you answered some of my questions!

I know you have a lot going on, what with the vlog, the screenplay, and TINT. But seriously, will you PLEASE keep doing more frequent blog posts? I know you have "question Tuesdays" and all, but I much prefer the blog format to the video. Something about it actually feels more personal.

Sorry I just wrote you an essay here. Thanks again for the time you put in on BEDA. It was AWESOME! And congrats about Edgar.

And agreed about the RSS feed. Get on it!

-Gretchen
