John Green: Author of Paper Towns, An Abundance of Katherines and Looking for Alaska
An Abundance of Katherines Looking for Alaska Paper Towns anagrams famous last words Bio and Contact

Hamlet is about to get plastered with Crantz and The Gildensterner

Right now: Sarah and I sitting on the couch together in the loft, she on her computer and me on mine. Listening to wizard rock. Kicking back with a Diet Squirt. Just another night in the crazysexycool life of the Green family.

Two Things:

1. I may be the last person to link to this, but this Facebook News Feed version of Hamlet is brilliant. I haven't loved something on the McSweeney's site so much since "On the Implausibility of the Death Star's Trash Compactor," the greatest accomplishment in the history of nerd jokes.

2. (I was lying! No second thing!)

Funny, I was doing the same thing this weekend. (sitting next to my best friend typing on our own laptops.) We also were especially nerdy and started IMing each other on AOL. xD

I haven't read Hamlet since fifth grade (almost 12 years ago...shameful, I know), but I did read Rosencrantz and Gildenstern are Dead in high school. I had completely forgotten how much I love that book! Thanks :)

Nothing better than being able to relax with family with Wrock playing in the background!

I love Hamlet -- and that image made me love it even more. ;D They should make more of those images for other Shakespeare characters. Macbeth, maybe?

Wow, you find the best articles online! My roommate and I were laughing at both articles. Especially the trash compactor on the Death Star.

OMG that was amazing. I hadn't seen it before, and I was pretty much laughing out loud as I told it to my roommates... who didn't care b/c they aren't jokes like that.. or English nerdfighters. I especially like the daggers one and the flowers/river one. Hamlet ftw.

To prove my mother's merit as a nerdfighter:

She had two friends when she did a brief stint in law school that had the last names of Rasencrantz and Gildenstern. Seriously.

They then started a law firm called [what else] Rosencrantz and Gildenstern.

It made Hamlet so much more funny when I read it.

My instinct was to read the Facebook feed from the bottom up, since on Facebook the most recent events are at the top, and so in order to go chronologically you'd have to... yeah.

I'm embarrassed by how long it took me to figure out that I was doing it wrong.
