OMG

When he was still a state senator, I happened to be in the Chicago Public Radio studios at the same time as Barack Obama. My producer and I stopped recording to listen to him. After about five minutes, Justin said to me, "That guy is a state senator?! A state senator? He should be President!"

He should.

Hey John,

Thanks so much for sharing this. As with every other time I've heard Obama speak (he came here last year, stomping for Bernie Sanders), he brings tears to the eyes.

Yes, I've been reading up a lot about Obama and Hillary Clinton recently. I really hope that we can get a good democratic candidate in the next election, as I'm not at all happy with Bush. I think McCain or Schwartzenegger would be fine, but Obama is my personal choice.
BTW, I've now read two of your novels, Looking for Alaska and An Abundance of Katherines. The first one was moving, and reminded me a lot of when I was a teenager and had to overcome a friend's death. The second one made me laugh out loud, literally! A couple of people looked at me strangely in the airport, but I didn't care. Great work. I hope to get a novel published one day. I hope you'll write another novel soon.
